Poterie Renault Bottle Md. Brown 1L

A truly unique find, vintage ceramic vessels that can be used as a functional or decorative object. Each vessel was hand-shaped from French grey clay, then salt-glazed for a shimmery finish. The best part is they come from iconic French stoneware maker under Poterie Renault.

Poterie Renault got its start way back in 1847, when Stanislas Renault first opened his workshop in Argent-sur-Sauldre, France. Five generations and 173 years later, the family was still handcrafting their iconic stoneware from local grey clay. They’ve since had to close up shop—but we’re sure glad we have their timeless salt-glazed pieces to remember them by.

Traditionally used for fermenting ciders or kombucha, this stoneware bottle is ready to become a staple in your kitchen. Use for serving water, in the kitchen for daily cooking oils, or of course for your favourite fermented beverage of choice.

In 1846, Stanislas Renault opened a workshop on the grounds of an old castle in the Loire Valley, France. Made from local grey clay and finished by hand, his salt-glazed pottery soon became a staple in not only the local cafés but restaurants and hotels across the country.

Five generations later, the Renault family was still handcrafting this iconic stoneware the old fashioned way. Since closing their doors, pieces from the Poterie Renault line have become more than a collection of staples for cafes and restaurants. They’re a piece of history, exquisite craftsmanship and style.

Please note that due to the handcrafted nature of these items, no two will be exactly alike.
